The EPICON Project at the EwB
27.02.2026On 26 and 27 February, we had the honour of hosting a meeting of the CANDID Foundation‘s EPICON project (European-Palestinian-Israeli Trilateral Dialogue) at EwB. The project aims to reassess political realities in Israel and Palestine, examine what meaningful joint engagement for a just political solution should entail, and develop actionable steps for European states to support such a process.
The Israeli and Palestinian delegation consisted of Sally Azar (a Palestinian pastor from the West Bank), Yossi Zabari (an independent Israeli artist), Nadav Tamir (a former Israeli diplomat), Ashraf Al-Ajrami (a former Palestinian Authority minister), and Shaqued Morag (an Israeli human rights activist and political expert based in Brussels). The CANDID Foundation was represented by Juan Aguilar (Project Manager), Meryem-Lyn Oral (Media and Communications Officer) and Valeska Heldt (Policy Advisor). In addition to the CANDID Foundation and the EwB, forum was also involved in organising this meeting. Naomi Berrend (editorial coordinator) represented it.
During the two days, discussion rooms were offered to various groups of people. Luxembourg politicians, members of civil society and the press were invited. A particular highlight was the public panel discussion, ‘A Candid Conversation with Sally, Yossi, Nadav and Ashraf’. Personal stories and thoughts from Israel and Palestine”.
